Dear users of Sputnik GIS, we are pleased to present you Sputnik 1.3. In the new version, we significantly improved *tls rendering algorithm, expanded the list of supported formats and added a number of new features!
The new *.tls rendering algorithm allows maintaining high level of details with increased speed of rendering. Now even working with very large amounts of data, you will not notice a decrease in FPS, and the detail level will not decrease even on scaling. Improved performance makes Sputnik not only a three-dimensional Geographic Information System, but also a powerful tool to present your projects.
We released the tool for exporting part of the *.tls model to one of the most common formats of 3D models:*.obj,*.dae and *.3ds. For *.dae and *.3ds formats, backward compatibility with Sputnik is implemented. You can work with the exported model, provided with precise georeferencing and initial geometric characteristics. Now you can share part of TLS model of interested area with you colleague or present it to client using Sputnik.
Sputnik has expanded the list of supported data formats, in version 1.3 you can view LIDAR data in *.las format and Photoscan point clouds in *.oc3 format. Support of LIDAR data in Sputnik gives user an ability to work with not only results of photogrammetry processing but also the results of laser scanning. More available data sources means result that is more precise!
Along with support of WMS services, Sputnik 1.3 supports WMTS services. Thanks to this innovation, you can use the maps you created on the Mapbox, function of getting feature info is also available from now.
The other innovation is *.geotiff maps styling tool – color palettes. This tool helps user to make great visualization of raster data.
Sputnik 1.3 brings a set of features for condition surveying. After photogrammetry processing of aerial survey data user can inspect building or construction 3D model along with inspecting high definition photos selected for current point. Photo selection feature has smart filtering options. Close to wall navigation mode makes the process of inspection easy.
