It allows creating a local navigation system for a highly accurate autonomous indoor flight
When creating the IR-navigation system, Geoscan specialists adapted the SteamVR Base Station 2.0 and designed an additional module which is installed on a quadcopter.
By using one stationary module, the Lighthouse IR-emitter provides the determination of the exact coordinates of a group of quadcopters indoors, when the use of other positioning systems (for example, GPS / GLONASS / optical flow) is impossible or difficult. In the base station, the plane of infrared light rotates, which is detected by the IR-receivers on the drone board. This ensures the creation of group flights with high accuracy in real time according to a predetermined trajectory.
Fast installation and configuration of the entire system
More accurate positioning of a copter in space
Flight area 12 m2 supported by one station
For the correct operation of IR-navigation, one base station is enough, and its tracking coverage area is 3x4m. Two base stations provide a flight area of up to 5x5m. The optimal location of the devices is above head level.
